Message from TIGER MIKE
Hello, Friends--
I've received a number of inquiries as to
what happened to the OK COC Website. The domain is in the process of
being changed, and your Confederation is in the process of coming up with a
new Webmaster. Let me assure you that the Board is trying very hard to
restore the website as soon as possible, and we'll come up with a quality
product all our Confederation members can be proud of. You'll receive a
website status update during the May 4 meeting, along with a current OK
Legislative Update, as the 2008 Session is starting to wind down. We'll
also talk about May as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month, and what will be
happening to help educate the motoring public to look out for Motorcyclists
and Share the Road. Joey Lester from AIM will be with us this
meeting, and will be touching on judicial-related issues, and we'll also be
looking forward to and addressing the upcoming NCOM Convention taking place
May 8-11 in Houston, TX as well. I hope some of you are planning on
attending the Convention, which is shaping up to be our biggest and best ever
(well, next to Oklahoma
City's maybe! LOL). I'll also have a recap to provide on the first-ever
NCOM Christian Unity regional meeting, which took place April 19 in Oklahoma
City. We're also going to talk about an important upcoming event
taking place in October at the Holiday
Inn Select in Tulsa--the Mid-South Motorcyclists Improving Legislative
Effectiveness (M.I.L.E.) seminars, where Rights Activists from a five-state
area will get together to discuss a wide range of educational topics designed
to support, enhance, and defend our lifestyles.
Hopefully, this thumbnail sketch of what
will be coming up at the meeting will inspire you to attend, so please make
plans to do so. I'll hope to be able to socialize with you, and with all
your brothers and sisters in the Confederation. Please contact me or any
other OK COC Board Member if you have any questions. Also, please make
sure your other club or organization members get this information, as I might
not have everybody's e-mail addresses. Before I close, I'd ask all
of you to please remember in your thoughts and prayers the family of Rogue
Fuzzy, who passed away the week before last, and also Rogue DJ and his lady,
Laura, who were stove up along with two others in the group headed out to the
funeral, when their Right-Of-Way was violated. Additionally, please
remember the family of Thomas Heinen, who was killed in Owasso April 21 when a
horse trailer turned in front of him. I understand he was a Biker
Minister, but am not sure if he was a member of one of our Spiritual groups.
Lastly, please remember MSgt. Billy Jay Serviss (USAF)
and his wife, who were hit by a truck this past weekend while on a poker run.
His wife is seriously injured, and a funeral is being scheduled possibly for
this weekend in Harrah, which the Patriot Guard Riders will be attending.
You can see that the Spring riding season has just started, and we've already
had several wrecks that Jaggers' Law might apply to! Well, that's all
the information I have right now--please get hold of me with
any questions or concerns. Thanks for listening, Ride Free and Safely,
and I'll look forward to seeing you May 4, if not before!
In Solidarity and With Respect,
Tiger Mike
